Web Server is Busy Error

Possible Causes Resolutions
The Server is "Busy"
FrontPage locks certain resources during the publishing process. Only so many people may use these resources at a given time.
Wait a few minutes, then re-try.
You Lost Your Connection Last Time See: Site Locked
Your Connection Time-Out Setting Is Too Low
Your Personal Web Server connection time-out setting is not allowing enough time for you to publish.

Note:  AOL users must pay special attention to their connection and ensure that AOL's automatic disconnect feature will not activate while they are publishing.   Be sure to allow plenty of time.

See America Online Issues.

Increase the time-out setting in your Personal Web Server:
  1. Open the Control Panel on your desktop.
  2. Click on the Personal Web Server icon.
  3. Click on the Administration tab.  A browser will open with the Internet Services Administrator tool.
  4. Click on the WWW Administration link.  The Internet Services Administrator - WWW displays.
  5. Increase the number in the Connection Time Out field.  (600 = approximately 10 minutes.  We recommend doubling the time).

You might also want to try this:

  1. Backup your FrontPage Webs\Sever\Conf\httpd.cnf file.
  2. Edit your FrontPage Webs\Sever\Conf\httpd.cnf file A. Uncomment the Timeout Line. B. Experiment with changing the time from 1200 to 600, and from 600 to 1800.

If after trying all of the above the problem still persists (beyond a reasonable time frame), please report the problem.  Be sure to mention your domain name and any supporting details regarding your attempts.
