Can not login to email web interface with Internet Explorer 6
Adding your web interface as a Trusted Site

Symptoms:
Cannot login to e-mail interface.  When you attempt to access your Web Panache email web interface, you are prevented from logging in.  The screen simply refreshes.  This issue applies to users of Internet Explorer 6.0.

Cause:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 (IE) has strict security settings by default.  One of these settings automatically refuses any web site using "scripts".

Resolution:
Since your Web Panache email interface uses java scripts, you must designate your login screen as a "Trusted Site" within your IE 6 settings.

  1. Open Internet Explorer 6.
  2. Click Tools, then Internet Options.  The Internet Options window displays.
  3. Select the Security tab.  The Security screen displays.
  4. Click the green Trusted Sites icon.  Buttons pertaining to Trusted Site features appear.
  5. Click the Sites button.  The Trusted Sites window appears.
  6. Uncheck the "Required server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" box at the bottom.
  7. Type the following string of numbers in the "Add this web site to the Zone" field at the top (this number string is the physical address of the Web Panache email interface - a.k.a. IP address):  63.123.136.247

Note:  It does not matter what your actual domain name is.  The IP address 63.123.136.247 must be used.

  1. Click the Add button. You should see this number string appear in the Web sites: box.
  2. Click the OK button. The Trusted Site window closes.
  3. Click the OK button.  The Internet Options window closes.
