Creating a New Alias Addresses

Definition: An alias is an email account that forwards to a regular POP3 email address(s).

  1. Access your E-Mail Administration Interface.

  2. From the Mailbox Summary Screen, click on Alias Administration (in the 'Administration Account Options' drop down menu on the top right of the screen)  The following screen will display a drop down list of existing aliases for your domain.  If there are none listed, then you have no e-mail alias set-up.

  3. Click on the Add button under the alias drop down list.  The "Enter New Alias Information" screen displays.

  4. Enter the new Alias information.  Note:  The Alias ID is the e-mail address.  For instance, if you want to create the alias sales@johndoe.com, enter the Alias ID "sales" only.  The software will automatically create sales@johndoe.com for you.

  5. Select "Standard" for the alias type.

  6. In the destination field enter the e-mail address that this alias should forward mail to
    ex: MyEmail@MyDomain.com

  7. When done, click the Save button on in the left margin of your screen.

  8. To verify your work, click on the 'Alias Administration' link.

  9. Verify that the Alias ID you added is now in the drop down list.
