Jim Quigley - Jerry Berdan - Jeremy Montague |
Quigsy & the Bird perform traditional Irish and Celtic folk music. They began singing & strumming together in 1964 as 8th-graders at St. Ann's on the west end of Syracuse.
Quigsy played in loud, raucous & undisciplined rock bands in high school and college (1965-1973), while the Bird performed in refined, genteel, progressive & peace-loving jug-bands (1969-1975).
Teaming up once again after college, Quigsy & the Bird formed their folk duo & were invited to perform at the 1981 Hotel Syracuse Irish Fest (they've been invited back every year since).
Since 1999, Quigsy's cousin & former rock band-mate Jeremy Montague has performed occasionally on bass with the duo. And their cousin Larry Clark shows up once in a while with his fine Martin guitar.
