I overheard a parent say that they haven’t seen many tears this year. At the beginning of the season, the kids (especially the younger ones) usually need a bit of TLC. I can say I haven’t seen much flailing around, either!!  All of the swimmers are doing great! Hopefully all of the kinks are beginning to get worked out. I wish it were that easy for my 40-year-old back!!  Okay, what’s up for this week….

Only 3 ½ days of school left!!  I don’t know about you, but I AM READY!!  This week also usually marks the end of many extracurricular activities, which means more time for swim team!! This is a busy week for the Piranhas, and it looks like this:

 Mon., May 24th       Knightsbridge Pool

3:45   Individual pictures

4:45   Team Picture (yes, the entire team!)

Immediately Following Team Picture – Remaining Individual Pictures

Note: No pictures will be taken past 6:30

NO PRACTICE ON PICTURE DAY!

There will be many opportunities to sign up for fun stuff like Piranha Pals (more info to follow), Celebration Sugar, Swim-A-Thon, Year-End Party, Friday Piranha Bait, and more!

Wed., May 26th     Normal afternoon practice schedule

                             5:30 – 7:00  Parent Training  - VERY IMPORTANT

This is your first chance to learn about how to perform your volunteer assignments. Training will be provided for literally all positions. Additional training will be held during the morning practice schedule during the week of June 1st. You only need to attend one session, and this is the ONLY session that will be offered in the evening. No, it will not take the entire hour and a half, and no, you do not need to be there at 5:30. Expect the training to take around 15 minutes. Please do not arrive any later than 6:40.

Thursday, May 27th          LAST DAY OF SCHOOL – NO PRACTICE!!!

Fri., May 28th   First day of morning practice! Summer practice schedule will                          be as follows:

6 and under  7:50 – 8:30           11/12           9:45 – 10:40

7/8             8:20 – 9:10            13 and up     10:30 – 11:30

9/10            9:00 – 9:55

Please note that there is a 10-minute overlap between practice times to allow time for stretching and warming up exercises prior to getting into the pool. No, this does not mean that practice “actually” begins 10 minutes later than the published start time – practice begins with coach-led exercises at the published start time.

First day of Friday Piranha Bait – you’ll have to show up to find out what it is!!

PIRANHA PARENT TIP OF THE WEEK:  Avoid receiving the “Greenest Hair” award this year – Ion Shampoo – found at Sally Beauty Supply – Only $5.00. Submitted by Diane Fick – mother of 6 Piranha swimmers!

GO PIRANHAS!!
